Penetrated by Gratitude

We just dropped a new episode and it’s… interesting. In the best way possible. We started off talking about that frantic need to fill every quiet moment, and let's just say we took the scenic route through the human psyche. 😆

It’s one of those conversations that feels like emotional whiplash—in a good way? We’re talking:

  • The sacred art of getting bored. (And why a generation raised on instant gratification is being robbed of their creativity.) 🎨

  • Why we’re all so desperate to “fill the holes”—from our calendars to our souls—and why some holes are meant to stay open. 🕳️

  • The difference between finding community and facilitating it (and why one of them leads to burnout while the other leads to Prosecco at a curling club).

  • A truly unhinged pivot into societal values, guns, and murder that somehow makes perfect sense in the moment.

  • The raw, sob-laughing power of gratitude and why it’s the simplest, most profound spiritual practice we’ve all overcomplicated. 😂

If you’ve ever felt simultaneously overstimulated and empty, scheduled to the max and lonely, or just rage-quit a podcast app because you were forced to be alone with your thoughts in traffic… this one’s for you.

A Moment to Pause in the Chaos

The conversation was chaotic, but the message underneath is simple. We’re all just trying to figure out how to be present in a world that’s screaming at us to be everywhere else.

Here are a few quiet takeaways to pause in:

  • Boredom is a Creative Act: The space between stimuli isn’t a void to be filled. It’s the fertile ground where your brain, free from distraction, starts to create, connect dots, and daydream. Protect it fiercely. 💭

  • You Can Be the Invited, Not Just the Invitee: Stop waiting for the perfect community to find you. Be the one who texts a friend and says, "Let's build a haunted house out of cardboard" or "I booked a table, we're doing pottery." The magic is in the initiation. 🪄

  • Gratitude is a Felt Sense, Not a Checklist: It’s not about writing three things in a journal. It’s the physical, overwhelming wave of feeling—the one that makes you sob with joy under an Italian moon or in a field listening to a band you love. Let it penetrate you. 🙏

  • Your Patience is a Rebellion: In a world of one-click shopping and instant answers, choosing to stand in a line without your phone, or to patiently cut a melon for your screaming kids, is a radical act of reconnecting with reality. 🧘

The goal isn't to fill all the holes, but to appreciate the architecture of the emptiness. The quiet spaces are what give the noise its meaning.

I love you. Go be gloriously, creatively bored.
